How can I get information on court dates and times?

Call the District Clerk's office for dates and times of cases at 205-625-4153.




Where do I pay fines?

Case numbers beginning with CC will be paid at the Circuit Clerk's office on the second floor of the courthouse.  Case numbers beginning with DC will be paid at the District Clerk's office on the second floor of the courthouse.




What if I can't pay the entire fine all at once?

Court ordered fines are due within 90 days of a guilty plea or conviction.

If the money is not paid in that time frame, it will be turned over to our Restitution and Recovery department for collection.  This department has the authority to make payment arrangements and also to move for issuance of a contempt of court warrant for the arrest of the defendant.  After 90 days you will receive a letter from the Recovery and Restitution Department, at this time you may come to our office and fill out a payment plan form to begin making scheduled payments.  Click here for the link.

How do I get a warrant?

For felony warrants, you must first contact your municipal Police Department or Sheriff’s Department.  The Investigator will then assist you in the warrant process through our office.

For misdemeanor warrants you must bring a copy of a Police report to the District Clerk's office on the second floor of the courthouse.




How do I drop or recall a warrant?

You must first come to the District Attorney’s office and bring a photo identification.  If the subject has been arrested you will be responsible for all court costs.  If no arrest has been made no court costs are assessed. Recalling warrants are at the discretion of the District Attorney.
